You can place the events in the sidebar or in the listing area from the admin dashboard < theme option < listing < listing detail and here you can enable the event in Content Layout or in Sidebar Layout (see screenshot).
You can also set the display of events from user dashboard < events and here you can set the event display in (see screenshot).
